Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City Review

Just as much as any other PS3 GTA fan, I was very disappointed when the two GTA IV episodes came out only on the XBOX 360. Actually I was looking forward to play them so bad, that I was tempted to buy the XBOX as one of the main reasons. Turns out it was a good thing to wait. At a very reasonable price (in my case $ 39.99) Rockstar delivered a lot of fun in just one disc.

Amongst "Lost and Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony" there are new, fun characters and a few new features. Also, I appreciated the old character's stories cross through with the new ones. Nice new elements to play with include a new tank, a new helicopter (with more artillery!), possibility to be a body guard/security guard at nightclubs, and new vehicles. I liked that there is the possibility of virtually endless drug-wars missions (in "The Ballad of Gay Tony")once you finish the game. Too bad that for both the new characters there is a limited choice of wardrobe.

Altogether these two-games-in-one will keep you entertained quite a bit, although in the end the "Liberty City" environment starts to feel a little too redundant and repetitive. I really can't wait for new cities (and hopefully open-range spaces like in S.A.).

Since the loading times sometimes become a little too long, I would not mind in the future to have the possibility to have a whole game to be playable straight from the PS3's hard drive.

Bottom line...if you liked GTA IV and are in the need to fresh stories and new situations to have fun with, at a great deal, I would not wait a second more.
