The PSP 3000 is a new and improved model from all the other PSP models. The media support and the games are similar to the other older versions but there are some features that have been upgraded and added. The most visible difference from the other models is the silver color that coats the PS 3000. The older versions are all in white. You will find some PSP 3000 models in black as well.
It is a redesigned version of the PlayStation Portable, Sony's popular hardware edition.
In an effort to improve the PSP's outdoor playability, Sony added an antireflective technology that will achieve this feature. In other words, this new model is playable in direct sunlight. The other models are cannot play when they are exposed to direct sunlight, so it is a major upgrade.
The external design also has notable changes. It has an improved surface that protects against fingerprints and is more attractive to the eye. It is a textured surface that is silver and white in color. To sum up the design in two words the PSP 3000 has a much slicker design as compared to the older versions of the PSP.
The new PSP 3000 also has an improved LCD screen as they have incorporated an Anti - glare Screen. The contrast ratio is about five times more than the older PSP. The response time is twice more than the older versions, which means you will not be seeing any instances of blurring during your playtime and during playback as well. This quicker pixel - response time is a savior to the LCD screen.
The PSP screen has a wider color gamut, which means it is capable of displaying a wider array of colors than before. The colors will obviously be brighter and richer.
Another hardware upgrade on the PSP 3000 is the built in microphone that was inspired by the success of the activated headset that was on SOCOM; US Navy SEALs fire team Bravo. The microphone is placed just below the screen. The built in microphone allows you to use applications such as online play or gaming via Infrastructure and Skype for PSP.
PSP 3000 is also now able to interlace with televisions that are not supportive of a progressive output. This is because the Video-Out feature has been improved. This means that you can use this new version of the PlayStation Portable on non- HDTVs.
