Teaching young children via visual illustrations used to be via large dark green chalk boards. The teacher would use chalk sticks to write their lessons and activities on the board. This process is often tiresome and hazardous to health. This is because chalk dust can easily irritate the eyes and noses of those exposed to it. Add to this the problem of cleaning a chalk board. Not only that these boards produce chalk dust when cleaned, residue of chalk dust gets deposited in its corners are hard to remove.
The problem of chalk boards is solved with the introduction of Dry Boards which are now extensively used in schools. These have easy to clean vinyl hard boards that are designed for liquid marker pens. These are non-toxic and safe for the teacher and the students. Whenever the teacher needs to erase what she has written, she can do this with the convenience of a dry cloth or white board eraser. Thus, the teacher and students are safe from any irritating dust.
There are a lot of dry boards that are available in the market. There are models which are specifically designed to suite day care centers. These take into consideration the needs of teacher in effectively teaching their students. Dry boards for day care use should be able to present the written words clearly. For this purpose, dry boards with white background are ideal because illustrations and writings for young children are multi-colored. Furthermore, these can be easily cleaned enabling the the teacher to use it continuously.
